MY SKIN CARE ROUTINE
I have tried out a lot of different skin care on my mug over the years. Over the past few months however I have gone skin care crazy and I have also given up make up wipes (I worked out they were giving me such bad spots!!). So after a lot of trial and error I have discovered some little beauties which work amazingly with my skin. For some background information, my skin type is combination - my t-zone gets oily but I also get some dry patches round my nose.. basically its a bit of everything.
STEP 1. GARNIER MICELLAR CLEANSING WATER
First up is my garnier micellar water. This stuff removes my eye and face make up SO well and it and it leaves my skin feeling so funky fresh. I use the one for sensitive skin because it is gentle around the eyes, but they also do one for oily/combination skin and dry/sensitive skin. I only use the micellar water if I am wearing make up - in the mornings and on no-make up days I will jump straight into step 2...
Price: £4.99 for 400ml (always on offer at boots or superdrug)
STEP 2. LANCÔME GEL ÉCLAT
My next step is to cleanse my face and for this I use Lancôme's gel éclat (very fancy name!). It is a foaming cleanser and smells of roses. I have used this for years on and off but have always come back to it, it leaves my face feeling super clean and soft.
Price: £23
STEP 3. PIXI GLOW TONIC OR MARIO BADESCU FACIAL SPRAY
I am OBSESSED with both of these products. When I started this blog post I couldn't wait to write about these two things because I love them so much <3
So the Pixi glow tonic is an exfoliating toner, I use this after my cleanser 3-4 times a week. It literally leaves my skin feeling like the most clean thing in the whole entire world and the GLOOOOW it gives you is unreal.. I guess that's why its called glow tonic..
Secondly, the Mario Badescu facial spray is a 10/10 all-rounder. On days when I don't use the Pixi glow tonic I spritz this all over my face and it is so fresh and cooling. When I was on holiday in the summer I kept a bottle of this in the fridge and then took it to the pool to cool me down, and let me tell you I was getting some looks of ENVY.. I also spray it onto my face after applying my make up, I don't think it makes my make up last longer but it definitely makes it look better as it gets rid of any excess powder and makes everything blend.
Price: Pixi glow tonic - £18, and Mario Badescu facial spay - £7
STEP 4. THE BODY SHOP DROPS OF LIGHT OR NIP + FAB GLYCOLIC FIX RADIANCE SHOT
Ok so next up is serum and I have two little angels I want to talk about here.
Firstly, the body shop drops of light brightening serum. This is a new discovery of mine and I am loving it. It is a light oil consistency which literally sinks straight into my skin and it smells amazing. It pretty much does what it says on the tin.. brightens. I use this twice a day, morning and night.
Next, the Nip + Fab glycolic fix radiance shot. I just want to say that if you haven't tried any Nip + Fab products then PLEASE do because I think it is an amazing brand and have heard its great for acne prone skin too. Anyway, the glycolic fix radiance shot makes me glow to the high heavens. As soon as you get some out of the bottle you can see a gold sparkly tint to it which won me over straight away! And it smells of grapefruit which I love. Aside from that, it makes me skin look so radiant and also helps to clear the crap out of your skin. I use this once a day 3-4 times a week and I some times mix it with my body shop serum or just apply it alone,
Price: The body shop drops of light - £26, and Nip and Fab glycolic shot - £19.95 (always on offer at boots and superdrug)
STEP 5. MARIO BADESCU HYALURONIC EYE CREAM
I have never suffered with dry skin around the eyes but I do get quite puffy eyes (staying up too late watching videos about puppies on youtube!). This eye cream sinks straight in and I have definitely noticed they are less puffy since I have been using it. I also apply some around my lips before bed and when I wake up they look pout ready plumped! You only need a tiny bit of product so it lasts such a long time before you need to replace.
Price: £15
STEP 6. PIXI ROSE FLASH BALM
Another one from the Pixi range, I use this moisturiser once a day in the morning and it really does brighten up your skin. I also find that it helps to smooth out my complexion and is a great base for applying make up. You can also use it as a treatment mask by applying a thin layer all over your face and not rubbing it in. Love love love!
Price: £26 for 45ml
STEP 7. PIXI ROSE OIL BLEND
Can you guess I love Pixi?! This oil is just the best! I apply a few drops to my face at night and it gives my skin such a luscious glow. My skin is often oily around my t-zone but I find that even though this product is an oil it does not make my skin any more oily it is just super moisturising - so if you have dry skin this will work amazingly with your skin too!
Price: £26 for 30ml
If you are not a fan of oils, the body shop drops of youth bouncy sleep mask is also an amazing night cream. It is classed as a face mask but before I discovered the Pixi oil I was using this every night. It provides an insane amount of hydration and leaves your face feeling so soft and fresh. I also love the texture of this, it literally does bounce!!
Price: £25 for 90ml
Thank you for reading! Love from Emily xx
